Humanities
The guidelines for the discipline of Humanities encompass a panoramic view of the passage of humanity in our world taking as a starting point the identification, analysis and assessment of the cultural achievements throughout our evolution as individuals and society. The synchrony between the proposed national curriculum and the British curriculum provides us with an unbeatable educational proposal as it makes a notable difference for our students in the national academic field.
To achieve this great vision of our passage through life as part of humanity, good academic levels and the formation of human values, we have established a series of disciplines that enables such comprehensive training: Social Studies, Peruvian Studies, Entrepreneurship, World History, World Geography, Business and Management, Religion and Study Learning Skills.
Nursery, Pre-Kinder and Kinder
At this level, students should develop perception and socio-motor skills that allow them to be aware of their surroundings; to start perceiving their own identity and freedom to express authentic and spontaneous thought and to acquire the social skills necessary to live normally among their classmates. At this level, our students are 3, 4 and 5 years old.
Junior School
At this level students must develop the skills to build an identity that enables them to feel supported by recognizing their own self; to coexist democratically which entails assertive communication in society; and that also facilitates spatiotemporal guidance and comprehension which results in the awareness of being an active part of the history and place where we live. Our students from grade 1 to grade 5 belong to this level.
Senior School
At this level students must develop critical and creative thinking skills, as well as decision-making to solve problems by adequately handling information and understanding space and time thus establishing a critical judgment that enables them to formulate hypotheses. It is very important at this level that the development of autonomy and self-assertive expression allows them to achieve suitable interpersonal relationships. Students from grade 6 to grade 11 belong to this level.
Grades 8 and 9 base their studies of World Geography and World History on an international Pre-Diploma curriculum . Grades 10-11 studies of History, Geography, Psychology, ITGS and Business and Management are based on the international curriculum of the Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate (IB).
For each of the international curricula, they are issued with an official certification stating the level and international value, which is proof of their national and international academic competence. This allows our students to have the opportunity to move into higher education or schools where that certification is recognised.
To complement our national and international education, resource material for teachers, as well as for students, can be found at our library. The use of technological tools such as specialised software, Smartboards and internet gives us the opportunity for comprehensive education that brings in real time the knowledge and skills necessary for the training of our students.
